oven-baked sweet potatoe fries. they're nothing new but i first had them last year around this time when i moved to the A. i wasn't crazy about them because i really didn't know what to expect. but i was reading Glamour Mag and saw a recipe for them and figured i should try it. now, i'm def. a fry girl. i love McDonald's fries, Red Robin's fries and recently fell in love with Checker's fries (the seasoning is divine). But in an effort to watch the calories, i decided to switch it up.
the fries i made were baked not fried so that was an immediate plus. on top of that, sweet potatoes are soo good for you. they have loads of vitamin a and c. they're actually one of the healthiest veggies ever.
here's what i did:
bought a sweet potatoe and boiled it for 10 minutes so that i could cut it up without a chain saw.
preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
cut it into strips.
mixed olive oil with a bit of seasoning salt, paprika, and cinnamon (whatever's in the pantry).
spread the olive oil + seasoning mixture and put in pan.
bake for 15 min. and then flip over and bake for another 15 m
in. and enjoy.
